The Altstadt parking garage on Promenadenstrasse in Frauenfeld is the first private parking facility to be included in the city&#8217;s Smart Parking system. There are already plans to connect the parking garage in the Passage shopping center after its renovation. The Smart Parking system is based on a project of the Canton of Zurich.<\/p>\n                                    <\/div>\n                                \n                                <p><a href=\"https:\/\/portal.infohalle.com\/de\/projects\/news_informations?token=f35a4ded-9097-4725-963d-3a4a34ea6475\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">(CONNECT<\/a>) The city of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frauenfeld.ch\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Frauenfeld<\/a> is expanding its Smart Parking system to include the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parking.ch\/en\/parkings\/frauenfeld\/parkhaus-promenade-altstadt\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Altstadt parking garage<\/a>. This has now been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frauenfeld.ch\/politik-verwaltung\/verwaltung\/aktuelles\/medienmitteilungen\/details.html\/773\/news\/11369\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a> by the city. To this end, it has been equipped with sensors that display free parking spaces in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.regiofrauenfeld.ch\/ueber-uns\/projekte\/laufende-projekte\/regio-frauenfeld-app.html\/432\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Regio Frauenfeld app<\/a>. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frauenfeld.ch\/wohnen-mobilitaet\/mobilitaet\/smart-parking.html\/2327\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pilot project<\/a> was launched in 2023 and continued in 2024 following a comprehensive evaluation. It now comprises a total of six parks and 24 cameras.<\/p>\n<p>The occupancy is recorded there every two minutes and displayed on the app. This should enable road users to find a free parking space more quickly and benefit from smoother traffic.<\/p>\n<p>The Altstadt parking garage is the only one not equipped with cameras. It is owned by Wohnpark Promenade AG and managed by Tobler Immobilien AG. A one-year trial operation was agreed with the managers of both companies. The underground parking garage offers 66 parking spaces in a central location.<\/p>\n<p>Following the renovation of the <a href=\"https:\/\/passage-frauenfeld.ch\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Passage shopping center<\/a>, its multi-storey parking lot with around 260 parking spaces will also be connected. The biotech company InSphero is joining forces with Breakthrough T1D and the University of Brussels. The aim of the partnership is to develop new treatment methods for type 1 diabetes.<\/p>\n                                    <\/div>\n                                \n                                <p>The biotech company <a href=\"https:\/\/insphero.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">InSphero<\/a>, based in Schlieren, has entered into a partnership with the New York-based research organization <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Breakthrough T1D<\/a> (T1D) and the Center for Diabetes Research at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulb.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Universit\u00e9 Libre de Bruxelles<\/a> (ULB). This collaboration, which is funded by Breakthrough T1D, aims to develop new treatment strategies for type 1 diabetes that focus on protecting and preserving the vital insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas, according to a<a href=\"https:\/\/insphero.com\/insphero-breakthrough-t1d-ulb-t1d-collaboration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Type 1 diabetes is a serious disease in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the body's own beta cells, resulting in insufficient insulin production, according to the InSphero press release. The innovative approach of the new collaboration aims to protect these cells from attack by the immune system by focusing on the beta cells' own mechanisms. Decio L. Eizirik, an expert in beta cell research at the ULB Center for Diabetes Research, is InSphero's scientific partner in this project, it continues.<\/p>\n<p>\"Unlike traditional approaches that focus exclusively on the immune system, our strategy targets the misguided dialog between the immune system and beta cells in T1D,\" Burcak Yesildag, Vice President of Islet Biology at InSphero, is quoted as saying.
