Winterthur/Neuenhof AG – Together with Trans Cycle, Flux Mobility has developed an electric small semi-trailer truck.
Empty PET bottles will be collected emission-free in the greater Zurich and Aargau area in future.
According to a press release, empty PET bottles in the greater Zurich and Aargau area will in future be collected by the first electric semi-trailer truck in its weight class. The all-electric small truck is the result of a collaboration between Flux Mobility AG from Winterthur and Transport Recycling AG (Trans Cycle) in Neuenhof and opens up new possibilities in emission-free transportation. According to the press release, this will save around 123 tons of CO2 over ten years compared to a diesel vehicle. The vehicle has a load volume of around 24,000 bottles.
"In Trans Cycle, we have found the ideal project partner to drive forward the Swiss PET recycling cycle with the first electric semi-trailer", comments Severin Ganz, Head of Marketing and Sales at Flux Mobility. The new vehicle concept is convincing both ecologically and technically.
The Flux semitrailer tractor with dual tyres on the rear axle and full air suspension has a total towing weight of up to 8.5 tons. "At Trans Cycle, we already attach great importance to using vehicles with low emission values. We are now setting new standards with the first electric semi-trailer from Flux. Thanks to intelligent route management, the vehicle covers around 40,000 kilometers a year and avoids unnecessary routes and downtimes," says Urs Frey, CEO of Trans Cycle. ce/gba
