Dimpora reaches final of competition for sustainable textiles

Zurich – The start-up dimpora has reached the final round of the International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Center (ISC3) competition for sustainable chemistry and textiles with its non-toxic textile membrane. The company is competing in the final for the first prize of 15,000 euros.

The Zurich-based start-up dimpora has been selected as a finalist from 50 applicants in a competition for innovative and sustainable solutions in the chemical and textile industry. According to a press release, dimpora is one of the five finalists selected by the International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Center (ISC3) alongside four other competitors from India, Mexico, Sweden and Turkey. Founded in 2019, the company presented its PFAS-free, polyurethane-based textile membrane of the same name. The product is both waterproof and breathable, making it suitable for use in outdoor textiles.

The winners of the final will be announced on 30 and October 31, 2024 during the ISC3 Investor Forum in Frankfurt am Main. Along the way, they will receive support from ISC3 in presenting their respective projects. The first prize is endowed with 15,000 euros and two further prizes with 5,000 euros each. "The large number of start-ups registered and the feedback from the start-ups we have already supported show that the ISC3 Innovation Challenge is a valuable opportunity for young companies in the field of sustainable chemistry," said Alexis Bazzanella, Director of the ISC3 Innovation Hub, in the press release.

"Visionary innovators should receive the support they need to realize their creative approaches and innovative solutions, because we as a society have the same goal: to contribute to a more sustainable future." ce/ww
