Schlieren ZH/Fremont – Biognosys announces the commercial availability of the proteomics platform NULISA for the discovery of biomarkers in plasma and other biofluids. NULISA was developed by the partner company Alamar Biosciences.
The Schlieren-based biotech company Biognosys is now offering the NULISA proteomics platform for biopharma research. The NULISAseq panels for CNS diseases and inflammation are now available to customers as a contract research service at Biognosys' high-end proteomics facility in Europe, according to a press release. NULISA proteomics assays are used for the discovery of biomarkers in plasma and other biofluids.
NULISA was developed by Alamar Biosciences Inc. of Fremont, California. According to the press release, the two companies entered into a strategic partnership earlier this year. NULISA is a highly sensitive proteomics platform. By combining affinity-based NULISA assays and mass spectrometry-based TrueDiscovery plasma profiling with P2 Plasma Enrichment, Biognosys offers the industry's most comprehensive solutions for plasma proteomics, it added. "The NULISA assays offer unparalleled sensitivity for biomarker discovery in biofluids," said Donna Earley, VP Global Service Sales at Biognosys AG.
The commitment ensures "that researchers can safely translate novel biomarkers from research and development to clinical trials". "The increasing demand for new markers of response to therapy requires both a comprehensive survey of the proteome and the precise measurement of specific proteins to differentiate clinical outcomes," Christopher Bunker, VP Biopharma Business Development at Alamar Biosciences, is quoted as saying.
Biognosys is a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) and is based in the Bio-Technopark Schlieren-Zurich. ce/gba
