Evitria enters into partnership with Sapio Sciences in Baltimore

Fahrweid ZH/Baltimore – The antibody specialist evitria AG is taking over solutions from the American IT platform Sapio Sciences. The aim is to improve workflows for sample tracking and data management.

Evitria, a Limmat Valley-based developer of antibodies for research, is teaming up with the laboratory informatics platform Sapio Sciences in Baltimore, Maryland. Evitria adopts Sapio's IT offerings to improve its workflows. The company has chosen Sapio's Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and Sapio Report Builder to enhance its sample tracking, data collection and reporting capabilities, according to a press release. Evitria also takes over the Sapio Report Generator, which enables the creation of customer-specific reports directly from the system.

Evitria has established itself as a provider of services for the transient expression of antibodies, for example following the introduction of foreign genes, and other CHO-based proteins, and serves a broad customer base ranging from academic laboratories to global biopharmaceutical companies, according to the press release. CHO proteins are so-called immortalized cell lines in which the cell division capacity is retained. Evitria supplies laboratories, pharmaceutical and biotech companies with customized antibodies. Since its foundation in 2010, the company has specialized in the CHO-based imaging of antibodies.

"Working with Sapio Sciences is a significant step forward in our workflow and data management capabilities. Sapio's highly flexible solution fits well with our existing workflows, streamlines data collection and processing, and requires only limited retooling of our processes or retraining of our staff," evitria CEO Stefan Schmidt is quoted as saying. This offers a platform for future growth and optimization. ce/gba
