Wyss Zurich RMTP and ZüriPharm enter into strategic partnership

The Wyss Zurich Regenerative Medicine Technologies Platform(Wyss Zurich RMTP) of the University of Zurich(UZH) and ZüriPharm AG, a member of the Bio-Technopark Schlieren-Zurich, have entered into a strategic partnership. According to the press release, the intensified collaboration serves to support the implementation of innovative therapies from research to clinical application. According to the joint press release from Wyss and ZüriPharm, the close collaboration is intended to cover the entire life cycle of medicinal products, from preclinical research and clinical trials through to standard care.

Wyss Zurich RMTP brings extensive expertise in the development and manufacture of investigational medicinal products in small batches for early clinical trials, according to the press release. ZüriPharm AG, with its modern GMP production facilities, complements these competencies with a focus on industrial pharmaceutical production for larger production volumes. GMP stands for good practice in the manufacture of medicinal products.

According to the press release, the agreed cooperation not only enables the efficient use of existing resources and infrastructure, but also offers start-ups and academic researchers an ideal platform to implement their projects with minimal investment. This benefits both the researchers and ultimately the patients.

ZüriPharm AG emerged from the Zurich Cantonal Pharmacy and is now a public limited company owned by the University Hospital of Zurich. Wyss Zurich is embedded in the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich and the University of Zurich and is dedicated to the fields of regenerative medicine and technologies for medical devices and bionics. ce/gba
