ph. AG expands into Asia with sports drink KA-EX

Zurich – The Zurich-based ph. AG has founded the subsidiary KA EX Asia Pacific in Singapore. From there, the cortisol-reducing sports regeneration drink KA-EX is now set to conquer Asian markets after the USA. A new Singaporean investor and crowdfunding should help.

(CONNECT) ph. AG has opened a branch in Singapore and founded the subsidiary KA EX Asia Pacific (Kangji Energy Holdings). In a press release, the young company describes this as an important milestone "in our mission to make KA-EX a globally recognized name - a Swiss innovation that is conquering the world".

KA-EX was initially developed as an anti-hangover drink that optimizes a number of bioprocesses, in particular cortisol reduction, sleep and regeneration. It was later discovered by professional athletes as a dietary supplement for regeneration after competitive sport.

As startupticker.ch reports, the company closed a series A financing round with 1.5 million Swiss francs a week ago. This round was led by a private equity company from Singapore in order to secure the distribution rights for Asia. The new investor is assuming the costs for market entry and development in Singapore in full. It also has a stake in a retail chain in China. "Until KA-EX is approved in China, we want to launch in other markets," ph. co-founder and KA-EX inventor Pedro Schmidt is quoted as saying.

In addition, ph. has raised over 1 million francs with a crowdfunding campaign. According to another press release, this has already been oversubscribed and will probably be closed early.

In December 2024, ph. announced that sales had increased fivefold during the six-month test phase in the US and had exceeded the target figures right from the start. At that time, ph. had already announced that the now completed Series A investment and a third crowdfunding campaign would support further market expansion in the USA. ce/mm
