LogicStar receives seed capital of 2.9 million euros

(CONNECT) LogicStar has received 2.9 million euros in seed capital from investors. The London-based venture capital firm Northzone led the pre-seed financing round for the company, which was founded in June 2024. Angel investors from DeepMind, Fleet, Sequoia Scouts, Snyk and Spotify have also participated.

LogicStar is a spin-off of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) and the Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology (INSAIT) in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. The Dübendorf-based company has developed an AI agent for fully autonomous software maintenance. It provides self-healing software applications, independently reproduces application problems, tests solutions and suggests precise corrections without the need for human supervision.

According to a statement from Northzone, the platform is developing rapidly: support for Python is already available. Extensions for Typescript, Javascript and Java are to follow soon.

LogicStar was founded by Mark Müller, Boris Paskalev, Veselin Raychev and Martin Vechev. The latter three previously built DeepCode.ai and scaled it to an annual turnover of 100 million dollars. The company, also an ETH spin-off, has built the first AI platform for codes. It was acquired by Boston-based cybersecurity unicorn Snyk in 2020. Prof. Dr. Vechev also heads the ETH laboratory for safe, reliable and intelligent systems.
