ZHAW continues international summer programme

Winterthur – The Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) has held this year’s ZHAW Entrepreneurial Summer Schools. Around 60 students from all over Europe developed entrepreneurial concepts. Further international programmes will follow in August and September.

(CONNECT) From 7 to 29 July, the ZHAW organised this year's ZHAW Entrepreneurial Summer Schools with a focus on CircularTech, FoodTech and HealthTech. Around 60 students from universities in the European University Alliance EELISA took part in the formats, each of which lasted two to two and a half weeks, according to a press release.

Working in interdisciplinary teams, the participants developed solutions in areas such as the circular economy, the future of alternative protein sources and health technologies. Finally, the students presented their entrepreneurial concepts and business ideas in pitch presentations, ranging from protein drinks based on aquafaba (FoodTech) to technologies for pain-free lumbar punctures in children (HealthTech). All participants received an EELISA credential to document their learning success and skills development.

The ZHAW is continuing its international learning programme with the Alpine Summer University in August and two one-week formats in September, according to the press release. In the Digital Health & Well-Being program, students develop digital solutions to promote mental health in collaboration with experts, while in Climate and the City, participants research practical approaches to climate adaptation and sustainable urban development.

The ZHAW Entrepreneurial Summer Schools are organised by ZHAW entrepreneurship, the ZHAW's internal strategic initiative that promotes entrepreneurial thinking and action at the university. ce/yes
