Cham ZG/Buchs ZH – AMAG Import AG has launched the ECU Repair project. The aim is to repair control units in vehicles instead of replacing them. By the end of 2025, 250 to 300 control units are to be repaired in the mobilog workshop in Buchs.
(CONNECT) With the ECU Repair (Electronic Control Unit) project, AMAG Import AG, a member of the AMAG Group, has introduced a sustainable option for repairing control units in cars instead of replacing them. According to a press release from the Cham-based car dealer, this reduces electronic waste and offers customers attractive alternatives to replacing their appliances.
The workshop at the logistics service provider mobilog in Buchs will repair 250 to 300 control units by the end of the year. Modern vehicles, whether electric cars, hybrids or combustion engines, have up to 120 control units that are essential for the functionality, safety and comfort of a vehicle. These are the devices that control the power windows or windshield wipers, for example, or the central control unit in the cockpit.
“The introduction of ECU Repair demonstrates our commitment to sustainability and innovation. We are proud to be able to offer our customers a solution that is both environmentally friendly and economically attractive,” says Oliver Stegmann, Director Group Aftersales at AMAG Import AG.
No repairs will be carried out on the control units within the warranty and goodwill period, and safety-relevant control units such as airbags, ABS/ESP or assistance systems are completely excluded from repair, the statement continues. ce/gba
