Schlieren ZH/Melbourne – Biognosys has signed a long-term supply agreement for customized chromatography columns with the Australian company IonOpticks. They are to become the standard for high-quality proteomics at Biognosys.
The Schlieren-based biotech company Biognosys is now working with IonOpticks. According to a press release, the Melbourne-based company, which specializes in chromatography solutions, has developed a customized chromatography column tailored to Biognosys' needs after extensive consultation with the Biognosys team. It will be available exclusively for use in Biognosys' TrueDiscovery, TrueSignature and TrueTarget services in the context of contract research. According to the press release, the companies have signed a long-term supply agreement.
Column chromatography is a chromatographic separation process that allows the separation of a mixture of substances by different distribution of its individual components between a stationary and a mobile phase.
"We really wanted to work with the team at IonOpticks to develop a chromatography column that was tailored to our specific requirements, and they delivered," Lukas Reiter, Head of Technology at Biognosys, is quoted as saying.
"Developing a column that meets Biognosys' stringent performance and quality standards was an exciting project that aligns well with our goal of continuing to deliver the highest performing columns to meet the growing demands of the market," said Xavier Perronnet, CEO of IonOpticks.
Biognosys is a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) and is based in the Bio-Technopark Schlieren-Zurich. ce/gba
