Burckhardt Compression launches AI module for routine maintenance

Winterthur – Burckhardt Compression has developed a prediction module for its PROGNOST-NT monitoring and diagnostics system. It uses artificial intelligence to predict the best time to service a reciprocating compressor.

(CONNECT) Burckhardt Compression has developed a digital solution that predicts the best time for routine maintenance of a reciprocating compressor. It supplements version 21 of its PROGNOST-NT monitoring and diagnostics system with this predictive intelligence software.

According to a press release, this combines real-time data with historical information from similar machines and analyzes it using predictive algorithms. This should make it possible to determine the projected availability range and the remaining number of days of use of the most important components in the compressor.

According to Burckhardt Compression, the reliability of the valves and seals is central to the optimum performance of a compressor, as they are typically responsible for the majority of unplanned downtimes. Assessing the expected service life of these components and planning accordingly should significantly improve availability. The new software module is now available for selected customers for specific applications. ce/mm
