Cyberlink AG acquires 40 percent of cloudscale

Zurich – Cyberlink AG is buying 40 percent of the shares in cloudscale.ch AG. With this move, Cyberlink aims to strengthen its position in the Swiss cloud market and, together with cloudscale, expand its offering with innovative, locally anchored cloud solutions.

Cyberlink joins cloudscale and acquires 40 percent of the shares. As Cyberlink CEO Thomas Knüsel explains in an identical press release issued by both companies, this investment will enable us to "expand our cloud services in a targeted manner and provide even more comprehensive support to companies with the highest standards of data security and flexibility". By storing data in Swiss data centers and using customizable solutions, Cyberlink also meets the high compliance standards of the financial and healthcare sectors.

Cyberlink wants to benefit from cloudscale cloud infrastructures with virtual servers, load balancers and object storage for demanding projects. Customers also benefit from seamless integrations with DevOps tools such as Ansible and Terraform or the ability to manage cloud services directly via a user-friendly control panel or APIs. The jointly developed SCION Cloud combines cloudscale's top-certified cloud platform with Cyberlink's highly available SCION Internet "for the fastest and easiest access to every common isolation domain in Switzerland".

Cloudscale CEO Manuel Schweizer emphasizes the growth opportunities offered by the partnership. Cloudscale will be able to "further expand its market presence and accelerate the further development of our services. Together we will create solutions that are specifically tailored to the needs of the Swiss market." ce/mm
