Designwerk launches new mobile fast-charging system

Winterthur/Munich – Designwerk is launching a new mobile fast-charging system on the market. The new product, which is compatible with five different charging standards, will be presented at the Power2Drive trade fair for electromobility in Munich.

(CONNECT) Winterthur-based Designwerk Technologies AG is presenting a new mobile fast-charging system at the Power2Drive trade fair for charging infrastructure and electromobility in Munich from May 7 to 9, 2025. According to a press release, the 22-920 model, which is part of the MDC product family, is particularly suitable for use in garages and at car dealerships.

The mobile charging system offers a charging capacity of 21 kilowatts at an output voltage of 1000 volts. Equipped with an appropriate cable, the device has an operating radius of 13 meters without having to change the output power source. The charging station weighs 39 kilograms without the cable and is mounted on a suitable trolley. However, it can also be used as a stationary fast charging station with a wall mount.

A major advantage of the MDC 22-920 is that the station recognizes five different, internationally common charging standards via the internal software and can charge the different batteries without the use of tools. "We have set the bar high with the MDC 22-920. Our device combines the advantages of a mobile solution with the challenges of different charging standards. And in the smallest of spaces! Operation is uniquely simple. Unplug it, plug in another plug and you can charge with a different charging standard," Thorben Maier, Head of Sales and Customer Service Charging Technology at Designwerk, is quoted as saying in the press release.

The product received the Red Dot Design Award and the new charger will go on sale at the start of the Munich trade fair on May 7, 2025. ce/ww
