Winterthur – Designwerk took second place in the Innovation category of the Eco Performance Award 2024. The electromobility specialist was recognized for its battery-buffered charging station in the megawatt range.
Designwerk Technologies received a silver award at the Eco Performance Award 2024. Specifically, the electromobility specialist from Winterthur came second out of nine finalists in the Innovation category, Designwerk announced in a press release. The Eco Performance Award is presented for innovative and practical solutions that combine ecological, economic and social aspects of sustainability. The company impressed the jury with its battery-buffered charging station in the megawatt range.
The Mega Charger developed by Designwerk is already in operation as a pilot system at the Lucerne-based logistics company Galliker. In the final expansion stage, the charging station will be up to six times faster than a conventional station with an output of 350 kilowatts, writes Designwerk. An electric truck with a usable battery capacity of 740 kilowatt hours should be able to be recharged in just 35 minutes. Up to 2000 kilowatt hours of electricity can be stored in the Mega Charger's integrated battery buffer. ce/hsde
