Zurich – The start-up GoNina offers businesses an online model for food planning. The program, which is supported by artificial intelligence (AI), aims to prevent food waste.
The Zurich-based start-up GoNina has developed a program for food planning in companies. According to a press release, the model, which is supported by artificial intelligence, will enable precise meal planning and avoid food waste.
GoNina addresses the problem that restaurants, bakeries, take-aways, canteens and supermarkets plan and prepare meals on a daily basis. This planning is generally based on empirical values in the companies. GoNina has now developed a program that uses artificial intelligence to evaluate collected data and offer a well-founded demand forecast. "We use artificial intelligence to combat food waste before it even occurs. From our research with companies, food waste is often due to unexpected fluctuations in demand," co-founder and CEO Matthieu Ochsner is quoted as saying in the press release.
GoNina offers a sales platform for overproduced goods, where suppliers can sell food in so-called "wonder bags" at reduced prices. ce/ww
