Zurich – Loki Robotics GmbH has attracted several investors for its pre-seed financing round and raised 1.6 million dollars. The Zurich-based start-up intends to use the funds to finance the development of its cleaning robot for toilets and kitchens.
(CONNECT) The Zurich-based start-up Loki Robotics, which specializes in cleaning robots for the sanitary area of commercial facilities such as kitchens and toilets, has raised 1.6 million dollars in a pre-seed financing round, according to a press release. Unruly Capital, Acequia Capital, Earthling VC, Boost VC, Founderful Campus and other investors also participated in the financing round led by Danish venture capitalist byFounders. The proceeds will be used to hire employees and to accelerate the company's next steps, the statement continues.
“At Loki Robotics, we are building a future in which private life takes the place of tasks such as scrubbing toilets,” says the company. “We build machines to take on such tasks.”
Loki was developed to master one of the most complex physical tasks in robotics: cleaning like a human, according to Loki Robotics. It is the first robot developed for environments with many contacts and high fluctuations, changes tools, applies resources with precision and interacts with furnishings and objects.
From overnight deep cleaning of toilets to continuous daytime porter routines, Loki adapts to the requirements of each facility, setting new standards for the management and operation of facilities. “Our commercial cleaning robot is the first step towards a future where intelligent machines perform the repetitive tasks that keep our facilities running,” the press release states. ce/gba
