Volketswil ZH – Londero is currently developing a fully electric ambulance with a minimum range of 470 kilometers for everyday use. The specialist in the construction, conversion and optimization of individual special vehicles has developed a new type of electric drive with short charging times.
(CONNECT) Together with engineers in Switzerland, Londero GmbH has developed a purely electric, 800-volt electric drive for emergency vehicles. The company, which specializes in emergency vehicles for the rescue services, fire department and police, is currently building a fully electric rescue vehicle for daily use. According to the company, it has a minimum range of 470 kilometers.
Londero's concept, called eLo, "differs significantly from normal electric vehicles, is always ready for use and has short charging times," CEO Raphael Londero is quoted as saying in an article published by Standortförderung Zürioberland. The former surgical and emergency assistant and paramedic took over the supplier Mowag in 2013, changed its name and expanded the company. In the meantime, Londero has grown to become one of around five comparable providers in Europe.
The Swiss special vehicle manufacturer with a focus on sustainable solutions and electromobility is increasingly focusing on developing vehicle parts in-house in order to become less dependent on suppliers, some of whom have long delivery times. These in-house developments include a special air suspension system, a closing aid that optimizes the door mechanism and a reliable attachment for infusion and syringe pumps.
Londero will present its all-electric vehicle concept eLo and other innovations at the SWISS Pavilion as part of the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference & Exhibition(DIHAD). The trade fair for humanitarian aid and development will take place in Dubai from April 29 to May 1. ce/mm
