Zurich – Manukai has received capital of 2.6 million Swiss francs from investors. This will enable the spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich to bring its artificial intelligence technology for computer-controlled metalworking closer to market maturity.
(CONNECT) Manukai has raised 2.6 million Swiss francs in an oversubscribed pre-seed financing round. The round was led by the Technopark Zurich-based venture capital company QBIT Capital, according to a press release. Bloomhaus Ventures from Zug, Innosuisse and a group of angel investors have also invested.
According to an article in Tech Funding News, the spin-off of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, which was founded in 2023, intends to use the fresh capital to further develop its own software package and bring it closer to market maturity. It is based on machine learning and uses this artificial intelligence (AI) to automate and optimize high-precision, computer-controlled metalworking (CNC).
The patent-pending Manukai software can reportedly be seamlessly integrated into existing CNC programming tools. "What really sets us apart is our data-driven approach," CEO and co-founder Pascal Weber is quoted as saying. "Our algorithms use customer data within their secure environments, ensuring comprehensive IP protection and improving CNC programming at the same time."
According to Georges Khneysser, Founder and General Partner of lead investor QBIT Capital, Manukai demonstrates "how AI can unlock immense value from legacy data and revolutionize manufacturing efficiency worldwide. With Switzerland's unparalleled industrial heritage and Zurich's cutting-edge AI ecosystem, Manukai is ideally positioned to lead the global evolution of manufacturing." ce/mm
