Optohive is now part of the NVIDIA support program

Zurich/Santa Clara – Optohive has been accepted into the NVIDIA Inception program. This will enable the start-up to further develop its optical imaging system for the brain. Combined with algorithms, it can record local brain activity. This should optimize therapies for ADHD and stroke.

(CONNECT) Optohive is sponsored by NVIDIA. The Zurich-based pre-seed start-up has been accepted into the Inception program of the global provider of artificial intelligence computing. With this program, the Californian company NVIDIA supports start-ups in accelerating technical innovations and business growth. In return, the inventor of the graphics processor provides developers of artificial intelligence with technical tools and training as well as preferential prices for his own hardware and software and contacts to his network of venture capital firms.

Optohive converts brain signals in real time into actionable insights for research and clinical care. The young company aims to revolutionize the way in which the brain is monitored in neurological diseases. “From our own research at ETH Zurich and University Hospital Zurich, and in close collaboration with leading clinics, we have developed next-generation imaging solutions to advance neuroscience and improve healthcare outcomes,” Optohive said.

Optohive's optical imaging system is based on near-infrared imaging and combines this with algorithms. The aim is to achieve “exceptional performance” in the recording of local brain activity. According to the company's press release, the first focus is on optimizing treatments for ADHD and stroke.

“Brain imaging is groundbreaking for the AI transformation in medicine,” the press release states. “At optohive, we are developing the tools to drive this change forward.” ce/mm
