Ruf has launched a new microphone preamplifier. The VisiWeb DMPE model is intended for use in rail and streetcar vehicles, according to a press release from the Schlieren-based information technology company. The application is intended to enable vehicle drivers to establish better contact with the control center or communicate better with passengers. The amplifier controls dynamic microphones in the vehicles, enabling better sound quality and reliability and thus making the work of staff easier.
In addition to its electro-acoustic advantages, the microphone preamplifier is built so robustly that it can also be used for other applications. The device complies with protection class IP67. This means that it is protected against dust and splash water and can withstand mechanical or electrical impacts without being damaged. The amplifier is operated with direct current in a voltage range of 24 to 110 volts.
According to the press release, the new microphone preamplifier has passed its first operational test in the streetcars modernized by Ruf in Halle an der Saale. ce/ww
