Supertext launches AI-assisted translator

Zurich – The text and translation company Supertext has launched a new program for translations that is supported by artificial intelligence (AI). Users can also book a review of the texts by professional translators.

(CONNECT) The Zurich-based text and translation company Supertext offers a new translation program supported by artificial intelligence. In addition to a direct online translation, users of the program can book a technically correct check by professional translators, according to a press release.

A simple short text can be booked for as little as 5.70 francs and is available within eight minutes. The translation of a DIN A4 text is delivered in 15 minutes and costs around 19 francs.

"Reliable translations today are what cabs were before Uber: expensive, slow and often frustrating. At an agency, an A4 page costs around 90 francs - and that's with a 24-hour waiting time," Samuel Läubli, CEO of Supertext, is quoted as saying in the press release. "The new Supertext puts an end to this and combines speed, cost efficiency and reliability on one platform."

The professional check is available in six language combinations to start with. The company offers online translations in 23 languages, depending on the subscription plan. According to the press release, the translation program is based on the latest generation of Large Language Models (LLMs). They were developed by the Supertext team with experts in machine learning, engineering and linguistics. The modules developed in Switzerland are also hosted on local servers. ce/ww
