Zurich/Munich – The i-engineers has won another tender in Germany. In total, the Zurich-based software company will now equip around 150 clinics with an interoperable patient portal.
(CONNECT) The i-engineers has been awarded the contract for the Mein-Krankenhaus Bayern project by the hospital cooperative Klinik IT, according to a press release. At the beginning of the year, Klinik IT had already entrusted the Zurich-based company with the Mein-Krankenhaus.Digital project in another tender. Together, the two projects cover 76 hospitals across Germany with around 150 locations and almost 35,000 beds.
Clinic IT was founded by hospitals as a cooperative. It is intended to drive forward digitization projects that individual companies could not manage on their own.
A patient portal with a shared database on an interoperable, centrally operated platform is to be set up for all of them. The first project is reportedly progressing as planned, with the pilot phase nearing completion. The “easily scalable” solution will now also be transferred to the new project.
All hospitals are to be connected to the system this year. As the i-engineers goes on to explain, patients will be able to benefit from a much simpler exchange of health data across all connected facilities. In addition to patients, referring physicians and other stakeholders can also be integrated in the future. “This can create a sustainable digital infrastructure and basis for innovation in the healthcare sector - far beyond the patient portal.” ce/mm
