(CONNECT) The chip and sensor manufacturer u-blox from Thalwil has developed PointPerfect Global. With the extended version of its satellite-based positioning solution, the company is expanding its PointPerfect series portfolio, according to a press release.
The new variant of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) was developed for applications in precision agriculture, UAV-based mapping (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) and autonomous outdoor robotics. PointPerfect Global has a worldwide reach and works with high reliability. The system provides PPP-AR (Precise Point Positioning with Ambiguity Resolution) corrections via IP and satellite L-band. It has convergence times of less than two minutes and delivers a positioning accuracy of less than 10 centimeters.
PointPerfect Global works both in the mobile network and via L-band satellite support. This means it can also be used in areas where there is no mobile network. The system is the first to be supported by the ZED-X20P all-band GNSS receiver from u-blox.
According to the press release, the first version of PointPerfect Global will be available from the end of 2025. u-blox will launch general access in the first half of 2026. ce/ww
