University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration Zurich expands management

Zurich – University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration Zurich (HWZ) is introducing a new body in the form of an extended Executive Board. It will be responsible for the strategic development of the HWZ. The departments are being realigned as networked ecosystems.

(CONNECT) The University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration Zurich is tackling its strategic development. To this end, the HWZ has created a new cross-divisional committee in the form of an extended Executive Board, the university announced in a press release. In addition to the existing Executive Board, which has been expanded to include Michael Klaas, Head of Business Development at the HWZ since May, it comprises 15 university personalities from the areas of teaching, administration, research and communication. The extended school management team comprises a total of 20 people.

While the existing Executive Board continues to be responsible for day-to-day operations and the implementation of university operations, the extended Executive Board is responsible for the strategic development and realignment of the HWZ. “With the expanded school management, we are setting the strategic course for the future of the HWZ,” said Rector Brian Rüeger in the press release. “It combines key competencies, networks perspectives and, thanks to its diverse and balanced composition, creates the basis for the sustainable further development of our university in a dynamic educational environment.”

The HWZ has assigned an important role in the realignment to its departments. They are to develop from traditional specialist units “into dynamic, networked ecosystems” that “work across departments and actively contribute to the university's profile”, according to the press release. To this end, the departments should work together more closely within the university. They are also responsible for expanding strategic cooperation and networks with external partners from science, business and society. ce/hs
