Verity Introduces Article Counting Supported by Artificial Intelligence

Zurich – Verity is introducing an artificial intelligence-supported article counting system. The manufacturer of inventory drones wants to avoid errors and automate goods issuing processes. The system takes over the count, recognizes discrepancies and flags problems.

(CONNECT) Zurich-based Verity AG, which specializes in inventory drones for automated checks in warehouses, is introducing artificial intelligence (AI)-supported article counting to avoid errors and automate processes in order picking and goods provisioning, according to a press release. Picking stations are one of the most difficult areas in warehouse operations, where problems have the greatest impact, according to the press release. The Verity system combines fully autonomous drones and AI algorithms, automates the counting of items, boxes and crates, detects discrepancies and flags problems before they affect operations.

An AI-supported image processing algorithm identifies pallets, analyzes volumetric information and recognizes boxes and cartons to ensure an accurate count of items and layers. Verity's AI-supported article counting system, which is already in use at several customer locations, is now available for a large-scale rollout, the report continues.

"As supply chains continue to accelerate and pressure on margins increases, even the smallest issues can bring operations to a standstill - especially in order fulfillment. Verity's new feature enables item-level precision, ensuring accuracy and operational reliability," said Raffaello D'Andrea, co-founder and CEO of Verity.

By using the system in more than 130 warehouses on three continents and in 15 countries, Verity is setting the standard for AI-driven inventory accuracy and warehouse automation, according to the Zurich-based company. Verity also has a location in Chapel Hill in the US state of North Carolina. ce/gba
