Voliro increases Series A financing to 23 million dollars

Zurich – In an extension of its Series A financing round, Voliro has increased its total investment to 23 million dollars. This will enable the next generation of its flying inspection robots for industrial environments to achieve complete autonomy.

(CONNECT) Voliro has announced the extension of its Series A financing round. This has increased the total volume from the 12 million dollars of the first financing round, which was initially closed in October 2024, to 23 million dollars. The London-based venture capital company noa, which focuses on technology for the built environment, participated in this increase. UBS also provided a credit facility. The original round was led by Cherry Ventures from Berlin.

The new investment is intended to accelerate the development of the next-generation Voliro T platform. The targeted advances for the Zurich-based company's inspection drones “mark the shift from semi-automated inspections to full autonomy and from passive sensor technology to active interventions,” says Voliro. “This will push the boundaries of what flying robots can do in industrial environments.”

According to the spin-off of the Autonomous Systems Lab of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, its inspection drones address three global requirements: Improving industrial resilience and safety, enabling climate adaptation and energy transition through better maintenance of assets such as wind farms, and reducing the acute labor shortage in the inspection sector. “Our technology is an indispensable tool for protecting the built environment, which we all depend on,” Voliro CEO Florian Gutzwiller is quoted as saying. ce/mm
