Wegmüller Develops Reusable Cardboard for Exhibition Stand Builder Messerli

Attikon/Wetzikon ZH – In cooperation with Andreas Messerli AG, Wegmüller has developed a box made of corrugated cardboard and wood that can be used hundreds of times. Before the start of series production, a prototype confirmed their stability, suitability for everyday use and protective effect.

(CONNECT) In a joint project, Wegmüller from Attikon and Andreas Messerli have shown how packaging design can optimize operational processes, according to a press release from Wegmüller AG. In close cooperation with the stand builder, the packaging manufacturer has developed stable and reusable transport packaging that has reportedly already proven itself in everyday trade fair use.

The transport packaging is made of corrugated cardboard with reinforced wooden end faces and integrated carrying handles. It should be stable when stacked and easy to carry. Precisely fitting inserts protect the packaged goods. The packaging solution is designed for multiple use and, according to the manufacturer, can be reused well over a hundred times. Even after repeated use, their shape remains "stable, without corners tearing or carrying handles being damaged".

This was confirmed by the prototype before the start of series production as well as the trade fair operations since then. The project manager at Andreas Messerli AG, Daniel Pina, says he is "very satisfied with the new packaging solution. It makes our work noticeably easier and saves time and space".

According to Managing Director Marc Wegmüller, Wegmüller AG's aim is "to develop packaging solutions that are functional, robust and suitable for long-term use. Close cooperation with our customers is crucial here." ce/mm
