Zurich – The first Zurich AI Festival will take place from September 29 to October 4. With responsible artificial intelligence as a central theme and a variety of events, the festival brings an international format to the greater Zurich area for a week.
(CONNECT) The first Zurich AI Festival will take place from September 29 to October 4, according to a press release. This is intended to bring an international format to the region that can compete with events such as TechWeek in London or Robotics Week in Boston. The more than 5,000 expected visitors can take part in specialist conferences and panels as well as formats for the general public such as workshops and exhibitions on the topic of generative AI over the course of a week.
The Zurich AI Festival is set to become the largest and most public platform on the topic of artificial intelligence in the region to date, with 5,000 visitors expected. It is managed by the ETH AI Center and Greater Zurich Area AG (GZA) and is intended as an independent, international platform to stimulate new ideas and applications in the field of generative AI. "The Canton of Zurich is a leading AI hotspot," said Carmen Walker Späh, Director of Economic Affairs of the Canton of Zurich, in the press release. "This makes it all the more important to take everyone with us on the path to the future - and to talk about the opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence."
The festival will focus on the topic of responsible AI. The AI+X Summit on October 2 will provide a scientific highlight. Organized by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) and the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), the summit brings together the academic AI community, creating a platform for networking and exchange.
The Canton of Zurich and Zurich Tourism are among the co-founders of the festival. The festival is also supported by numerous partners from the economic region. All leading universities in the region, including ETH, the University of Zurich (UZH) and the ZHAW, are also actively involved. ce/nta
